In Poetry We Say…
In English a mother says
that boy is my whole world
In Poetry We Say…
the wings of Angels
brushed my womb when
the Great Creator
designed you
bone of my bone
flesh of my flesh
impetus to my breath
you belonged to me
long before the
Ancient Spirit raised me from the dust
when my bones are ashes
and my body has returned to earth
you will be mine still
my love for you expands
in and out of time
beyond words
measure
or imagination
there are no forces powerful enough
to inflict on us separation
ours is a bond forged
in blood and bone
depths of love
this world has never known
for you,
My Son
I wage wars
burn empires
flip tables
incite wildfires
you are the reason
I know God exists
there are no boundaries
to a mother’s love
it is bottomless
immeasurable
undefinable
all my words fall short
so I will choose only three
and hand them to you gently
I Love You
so you can carry my love with you
wherever you go
no matter the time, place or circumstance
you will know
I Love You
